I know someone who is coming to Duma and thinks it sounds better for him and his wife to take a Ferry than Fly - because he is 7'3" Is there a reliable website for booking a Ferry from Manila to Duma? or is it a go to the port and find out thing? Where is the port they would need to go to?
I saw few days ago a Ceres with the destination Cubao. And in the Dumaguete port a ferry going to Manila. But I did not see which shipping line. Try to ask in a travel office or at the port. Here is a 2GO ferry schedule MNL - DGTE. Edit: Meh, seems not to take over the searched schedule in the link. There seems a ferry every 3 weeks. But there are other ferries also like Lite or Roble.
Sometimes there can be a lot of hazle at the ferry terminals, best way to do it, take a direct bus from a terminal in Manila to Dumaguete. You can find location of the terminals and different bus companies if you use Google and best to order the ticket in advance
As I said, the whole point of taking the Ferry is he is a giant, 7'3" and would rather take a 24 hour Ferry than a 1 hour Airplane ride.
Get the Stateroom or the Matrimonial room. Private bath, tv and ref in the room, meals in the Executive dining area. I have done it in the past and it is very nice. But at that height, the beds will be short, hope he likes the fetal position. Stateroom is 2 single beds, and Matrimonial is double bed, much larger room. Both are air-conditioned.
Last time I sailed from Manila was 2004, the main port in Manila. I'd rather endure 1 hour on a plane than 24 hours seasick. Hope the weathers kind.
