What hospital/doctor would be best equipped to diagnose a shoulder injury in Dumaguete? Any recommendations on an orthopaedic surgeon? Or should I just forget about Dumaguete and head to Cebu? What hospital/doctor would be best there?
Orthopedic surgeon Dr Danilo Olegario at Silliman has been well recommended on this Forum - as has his wife for physio.
Hope you fare well Rye83. Link below is no full answer but I feel a good addition to the thread to expand on the topic for collective Ref:. Cheers! https://dumagueteinfo.com/board/threads/mri-at-provincial-hospital.7492/
I agree that it is best to rest it first - is it your drinking arm? If you need to go to Cebu then http://www.everythingcebu.com/lifestyle/public-services/hospitals/list-of-cebu-hospitals/ I know that Chong Hua has a very good reputation. Also, I heard secondhand that someone took a parent to Cebu Doctors' Hospital for (I think) a kidney issue, was quoted doctor's fee (i.e excl room, anesthesiologist etc.) in Duma of P80,000, but spent only P57,000 for ALL fees plus their own hotel room for 3 days. Good luck for your recovery.
Go to Cebu. I heard Olegario charges an arm and a leg and prescribes expensive therapy (courtesy of his wife) they dont need.
Dr. Oligario is a good, but I was never quite impressed with Silliman enough to have surgery there. I (personally) would try to find someone at one of the larger, better equipped hospitals in Cebu or Manila if I needed surgery, and if that was an option.
ACE in Claytown has an operating MRI and Orthopedic Surgeon. Not certain on the MRI, forgot to ask. Not a recommendation, just letting you know that they are equipped.
