Well........It is in fact the Philippines so I can think of about 20 ways to improve the perfect toilet!
A year or so ago we were in a hotel in Manila. We checked out the room and then checked in. Several hours later I plopped my big down only to discover that the paper roller was about 6 or 7 FEET away. That Hotel is on our do not stay list.
You did not understand the purpose of this idea. The hotel wants you to exercise your body while being on the toilet. So that you can do better pooping in the future.

My filipina wife is furious about this issue....although here in Australia when we are driving .....there is bushland everywhere - to do your thing.....Far as I am concerned, Japan gets the Academy award for toilet facilities.....they are almost everywhere.....and they are clean and no one stole the toilet paper....assuming it is not one of their wonderful 'self-cleaning' toilets......You haven't lived until you work in the Middle East.....sh*t decorating the walls.....no paper...maybe some running water.....
I was in the airport in Japan. Yup There are the best, Korean is 2nd, but they should have Manual in English to run there toilets. I don’t know what all the buttons. But one of them will wash the door Lol
