    I don't know.
    Happy new year all.

Arriving Friday 3rd Jan from Cebu into Dumaguete and planing a road trip around Negros on the motor bike.

Will spend the first few days in Dumaguete then hit the road. We have no plans except to be back in Cebu before the 20th Jan. I'm not one to plan to much just go with the flow.

    A few questions.

How are the roads around the main coastal road.

Any recommendations on must see places along the way.

Recommend budget places to stay along route.

    Thanks Ash.

2-3 months ago I was on a bike ride on my Yamaha 155 cc, I will upload my route on a map. East Coast Dumaguete to San Carlos is a pleasure to ride, many small towns where you can stop, several 7/11 stores, my favorite for coffee, cold drinks, sandwich, etc., have had some bad experiences with karenderia, not funny to sit on the side of the road with trousers down and people pass by lol. San Carlos to Bacolod over Don Salvador Benedicto is really beautiful in the mountains and fun to ride even on a small bike. On another bike ride, I was at Mt Canlaon, you can't ride to the top but I use 2 days' drive around there and enjoy the peace, beautiful nature and no or only a few foreigners there, depends on what time of year it is. My goal with my last ride was to see the northern part of Negros never been there before. It's a sugarcane area and not that much exciting Imho, but there are things to see there, an Echo Park and a museum north of Dakbyan Sagay. I took the ferry from San Carlos to Toledo on Cebu Island and down to Santander (Bato Port) back to Negros. Ferries are dirt cheap San Carlos-Toledo was 400+ pesos and Santander to Negros 180 pesos for bike and 1 person, I was alone on the last tour. If you go up West Coast of Negros a must visit place is Sugar Beach, you take a banka from Siapalay around 20 min to Sugar Beach, no roads go there, you can only reach Sugar Beach by boat if I remember right it's only around 200 pesos for the boat. You can park your bike 100 m from the Beach in Sipalay it cost 100 pesos a night then you sure it's still there when you come back, just ask people there, or in tourist information, they have a small office on the beach there. There are around 12 resorts there all price range and you can rent a kayak or a small sailboat, very small, just for fun close to the shore. If you go Canlaon you need to be prepared there are only 3 hotels/pension houses in town if you want more comfort you must find a resort outside Canlaon but that should not be a problem. I stayed at the Tourist Inn in Canlaon they have the basic, okay bed, aircon, shower and tv. Then about the choice of bike, I will say you can easily go Negros around even on a 100 cc but for sure it's more fun on a bigger bike and also if you like go off road, you need to consider what bike you choice but I'm sure you know that. I wish you a good ride, enjoy. Have problem upload my route but 1. day I go Dumaguete-Bacolod and next day from Bacolod-San Carlos on the northern part of Negros, day 3 Toledo-Santander on Cebu Island

Thanks Liverpool fan for the reply, good info. I do plan on going to Mt Canlaon. This may sound a bit dumb but Im a mad mountain biker and I wanted to check out Mt Canlaon to see if its rideable. As in a extreme ride down, I have done this stuff before and well experienced. I dont think I will ride it this trip just check it out and maybe trek it. I will be riding Valencia this weekend.

I will be on the Nmax and two up with my wife.

Even though canlaon is quiet now there is still a 4km exclusion zone.

For anyone who likes oysters you can stop by the road at san enrique as there are several people selling for only p100. They steam a huge bucket of them for you.
