Smart TV no internet problem. Connects to modem ok. Laptop connects ok so must be TV, maybe 4-5 yrs old. Any ideas?
Hello PatO. At 4 , 5 years, I well imagine there is no problem mechanically or digitally. It most likely will be solved with settings. I have provided 2 links. I would go to the settings and find the "About" or "update" settings to make sure everything is updated. Then find the network or WiFi settings and do a network check. If the TV has the option/port available I would run a hard wire directly from the modem/router to the TV. If all this fails I would then do the dreaded factory reset and repeat all the steps above.
Pat have you tried re-entering your wifi password in the settings on the tv...sometimes it needs redoing. Go into Wifi settings and activate search for modem... select your modem...then re-enter your wifi password. Failing this a complete reboot... powercord out for at least 1 -2 minutes... is always worth a try. Factory reset is the other option if the above don't work. I'm always loath to do this unless all else fails. Hope you get it working again.
