No doubt if the Philippines national government get hold of this, it will be labelled as yet another biased foreign assessment.

In all fairness, there are literally dozens of sites that attempt to cover such information. Some are more credible than others. No one site can be seen as accurate as social dynamics change yearly, monthly, weekly, daily, hourly. On the bottom of your image the post says that Russia and Ukraine are not listed due to on-going conflict. I submit that is very telling on the accuracy of that site. Conflict is common in all Countries. The proliferated drugs, organized crime, Gangs, diminishing Family and moral values, high cost of living is more than abundant in causing crime and dangers walking block to block in all 1st World Countries. I also submit that such sites on this topic of safety vs danger generally are created by Persons that reside in such 1st World Country for other intent and purposes. This link is for EG; in-different.

I have lived in combined time (5 years in Philippines) Have never felt safer. Back in Vancouver Canada I was surrounded by the poverty stricken, drugs, crime, murder, rape, gang war, break-ins, auto theft and so much more on a much much higher level than exits here. This is only my opinion and in no way mean to patronize. Safe living in most Countries depends on the individual and how they go on about their daily life and the decisions they make over the coarse of a day. Walk a dangerous path and one will find danger.

Yes there are many such sites.

    Cities are often the problem.

From your link below, can't say I'd want to visit any of these in a hurry, North Korea perhaps?

Top 13 Most Violent Countries in the World (Global Peace Index 2021):
    1. Afghanistan - 3.631 (higher scores indicate less peace)
    2. Yemen - 3.407
    3. Syria - 3.371
    4. South Sudan - 3.363
    5. Iraq - 3.257
    6. Somalia - 3.211
    7. Congo (Dem. Rep of) - 3.196
    8. Libya - 3.166
    9. Central African Republic - 3.131
    10. Russia - 2.993
    11. Sudan - 2.936
    12. Venezuela - 2.934
    13. North Korea - 2.923
Most of these are war destinations or have other serious issues.

Regarding Zebra crossing deaths, Philippines definitely number one, although not as bad here in Dumaguete as some other places in the Philippines I've survived.

Why did the Chicken cross the road in the Philippines?
    Sadly it didn't make it...

I did not post it claiming to believe it verbatim. I'm sure that there's some truth in it though.

Two things went through my mind - firstly, I'm sure that this measure would be totally different taken locally in different parts of the Philippines. I feel very safe around Negros, for example. In Manila, not so much. The other thing is, it's not just a measure of violence, but all things related to safety, and the very poor standards of motorcycle riding and poor mechanical condition of large vehicles must add much to the ranking.

Oh, and another thing. Law and order have virtually broken down in Haiti, but it does not seem to score so bad in the violence tables.
