This is the Phils.............any way @Mactan airport they are honest with respect to the ECC fee and don't charge you double.
I can confirm that - got my ECC in Cebu yesterday and all I paid were PHP 500 Express lane fee. Been there at 8am, paid at 8:50, came back at 3pm to pick up passport and exit clearance. All in all a painless experience. I stayed at the Tokoyo Inn which is conveniently located in the same building as J-Center mall (makes appearing at the BOI at 8am sharp less painful). 2k for a nice room including a so-so buffet breakfast. Clean room, comfortable Bed, quiet split-type aircon, fast WiFi, free parking in the mall underground parking. All in all good value for money.
So I wonder if you elect to leave your passport there for a week will you still need to pay the express fee?
When you stay a couple of days pior your departure in Cebu city this is also an option. But in fact no need to do so, @the airport it's only a matter of a few meters to go from one counter @the Immigration officer to the counter @the cashier. Less than 5 minutes and ready. Most important of all, no matter how you do manage, to have the ECC without any hassle or problems.
Nope, not true. SRRV never requires a BI exit clearance (EC). However, SRRV waiver of payment of travel tax expires if more than 12 months have passed since leaving the country. This is a nice side benefit of SRRV; EC clearance requires a visit to BI or BI desk at the airport. A good rule of thumb is that SRRV holders never have to interface with BI. PRA does that for you where required. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Right, the 6 months applies to holders of the ACR and ACR-I card. Such holders are hopelessly married to the BI system and all of its inconveniences. SRRV includes a similar “SRRV card” and it’s holders do not require ECC. That is outside the scope of ECC and ACR-I (13a etc.). Also, SRRV holders do not require reentry documents, so you can smile as, after you arrive, you breeze through the diplomatic line at airport immigration. It may be that your SRRV bank deposit is considered collateral for whatever problems an exit clearance might discover. Just my guess. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Entered the Philippines a few weeks ago...this time will use my exit ticket....will not go past the 6 months. It was refreshing to visit another country for a few days. It wasn’t pleasant to travel to Cebu..for an exit clearance back to Dumaguete...a flight to Manila...over night..in Manila...to Malaysia...back to Manila...Dumaguete...and the traffic... It used to be pleasant to return to Dumaguete.
Hi, I am a tourist and have to leave after almost 3 years. I am confused where I can get the ECC-A. The Immigration Office told me in Cebu and takes 3 days, costs around 1.2 k (without express lane?). The Agency in Duma wants 3.5 k, takes around 3 weeks. There are maybe some other options? I read here also that I can get it on the Airport in one day. Or is that just the ECC-B? They should have all information about it in every Immigration Office, would be more easy for every one. Thanks in advance! Lukas
I got my exit clearance (nearly 3 years on a tourist visa) earlier this month with 3 days to spare before my departure date. I opted to have the visa assistance agency do it for me for P5k (expedited service). They picked up my passport in Valencia same day i requested and had it back within 48 hours. If you delay, you pay. 5k seemed fair for what they did to get that paper for me. You can do it yourself if you like. That will cost you around P500 to P1.5k, depending on the type of exit clearance you need from what i read. But that will require you to travel to Cebu, Manila or Davao, which will run the total cost up around 3 to 4k unless you travel, live and eat like a local. They do not do exit clearances in Dumaguete or Bacolod from my understanding. I do not think long stay tourists can avail the airport ECC (some will tell you you can, others have expensive horror stories to tell...the actual rules depend on how immigration is interpreting their rules this week and if the officer at the airport feels like doing their job/showing up/is in a good mood). Pick your poison, all have a price to pay.
