We transfer money to our PHP account at Equitable and pay NO FEES. I used my credit union account here in Alaska to "Bill Pay" myself. I pay myself twice a month sent to the Dumaguete account and it cost nothing. I even set it up on-line and can change it or adjust the amount over the net at any time from any where. I have wired money in the past and it cost. I have found that this is the easiest, best, safest and cheapest way to transfer money to Dumaguete.

    My 2¢

    Thanks Jim,

I am quite sure many expat-members appreciate your advice. PCI Equitable seems to be a quite reliable bank. Anybody who can share some expiereince with other banks?

    cheers

Bank of Commerce on the Bvld is vey customer service oriented if you are a foreigner. Leo Alcantra is the Manager. I don't use the transfer with them, can't speak to that. but their interst rates are better than PCI, and You do not need to wait in line or take a number. Just walk in sit down with Leo, chat with the powers that be in Dmgte, Mayor, developers, bussiness owners, sip coffee, chat about local developement, tell a joke. Leo is a great guy, and takes a lot of good natured abuse. Also they will exchange dollars for pesos with a competitive rate, unlike PCI, if that is of interest.

I sent money through remithome.com I paid $10 flat fee every transaction I made. I also sent money to my EPCIB savings account, but I am a little worried now that I heard about merging BDO and EPCIB. I heard that we are getting a new accounts or open a new account? How do I suppose to do that if I am not in RP right now?
    Is this true?
