Tilapia fishing....LOL...that would be the most un-challenging fishing in the world. They will eat anything in front of their nose.....I used them in Hawaii (commonly stocked/found in sugar cane water holes and local streams) to feed my other interests (ie pets and rescued native wildlife)...so caught a few hundred, if not thousands. If you want really great fishing...try Australia or New Zealand....Southeast Asia is pretty much done....

    Will do! :D

The whole key for good saltwater fishing in the Philippines is to go to places that are off the beaten path, and are less populated. When people say there is "no good fishing left in the Philippines", I guess they have never seen Dorado, Blue Marlin, Wahoo, and Yellowfin Tuna for sale in the fish markets, and even in the market in Robinson's Mall! Where do they think that fish comes from, the fish fairy? :D

    One example:

"I know a great trolling spot in the Republic of the Philippines. This is located off the eastern seaboard of Sorsogon Province in the Bicol Region. Jump-off area is the Bacon District and out to the Rapu-Rapu Island Channel. The area is rich in pelagic fish......"

    Rapu-Rapu Island Channel, Philippines.

I know this is not Dumaguete, but If you like fishing, Caliraya is the only place in the Philippines where you can enjoy bass fishing. That place is in Batangas Province near Laguna. A person could make a week of it and see Tagaytay & Taal Lake as well as doing some bass fishing.

    What is a siluwakee?

I've done a search but that word does not appear. Is it possibly a non-Tagalog local name for a fish I may have heard of?

Sea urchins are about as challenging to catch as tilapia, although the diving can be nice. They don't taste as good as tilapia though.
