Just joined this forum today. I spent New Years in Dumaguete/Dauin diving out at Mike's. I really liked the area and met some nice people while I was there. Rhoody who I know from scubaboard but have never met was very helpful with advice before my trip. I've made 5 trips to the Philippines in the last 3 years. I will be retiring from the US Navy next year and am planning on taking a year off (I'm finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel ). Dumaguete is at the top of my list for my "extended" vacation. My big thing is scuba diving. I also enjoy photography and writing. Obviously scuba diving is one of the reasons that I've decided to base myself there. Also that it's a university town. I plan on taking a few classes while I'm there since after my sabbatical I'm planning on returning to the US to finish a degree. Having traveled a fair amount around the Philippines, I have to say that I really liked the "vibe" in Dumaguete. I'm really looking forward to coming there the end of next year I do have some photos from Dauin posted on my flickr account if anyone is interested. They can be found at: Flickr: scubabill86's Photostream
Welcome to the forum Great photos there, we can always use more dive photos on the forum, so please feel free to post your photos there too
Thanks Believe it or not I've never finished editing photos from my last trip to the Philippines :o I transferred from Japan back to the US immediately after that trip and then got sidetracked with photos that I took diving here in California. I'm sure I can dig up a few to post though
