We rode into CDO today and we were stopped by the military, not LTO or PNP, these guys were army. They had a bunch pulled over, motors, cars and a Jeepney. They waved us over and an army guy walked up and asked to see my drivers license. I handed it to him. He thanked me and said to go. But, there were others there that had all their papers out (registration I think). It's just that this is my first time seeing the army doing this. And, on the same subject, there was an unusual (large) number of PNP roaming around inside of LimKetKai Mall also. Personally, I like a bunch of security. There's never too much for me.
It could be less dramatic. The Army gets also involved when president and/or some high government officials are in town. Some years ago Gloria was scuba diving with us the day before she arrived I walked home around 9pm. I took a shortcut through the woods and ran against a camouflaged guy with whatever monster-weapon in pitch black darkness. It took a while until we a kind of explained our functions and why we are here in the night. While he started smiling I still was scared to almost death. There was no need to wash that pants anymore... cheers Rhoody
Or it could be a case of carnapping. That is what happens here whenever there is a crime or theft, police officers will stop vehicles to check papers.
Army! Not sure that the Army would be used for car-napping Rarity, of course strange things do happen here at times! Jack P.
