⌛ Retirement in Dumaguete

Dear All,

this is a message which goes to all the foreigners in Dumaguete!

I am writing a Business PLan for the European Chamber of Commerce and the International Chamber of Commerce Retirement and Healthcare Coalition Inc.

Right now I am looking for a location where the Village could be placed. During my research Dumaguete and Valencia got my attraction and I meet with NGO's there.

Now I would like to know from you what it is that made you decide to stay there? Also I am looking for retirees/foreigners who are willing to meet in Dumaguete and discuss the topic and introduce the project!

I am retiree here AND a foreigner.
No problem to help you discussing certain items to facilitate your plan.
My reasons for the choise of Dumaguete I have given already somewhere on the forum. So look first around, as Rhoody said.

I will now start checking the forum for reasons that make Dumaguete interesting for such a project.

Furthermore I plan to drop by the city in June or July. What do you think about organizing one evening where we sit together and discuss the topic? I would be delighted to listen to your individual stories what brought you there and furthermore what you think about the planned project.

What makes the project interesting is that it will be based on long term lease (lifetime) with an Easy Inn - Easy Out contract. Meaning the retiree can own land, but he can also anytime get out of the contract and get his money back. Let's say he pays P 3.000.000 and he decides to leave the village after 5 years he will still get 70% of his capital back.

I have heard of similar plans in Other parts of the Philippines, targeting in those cases Balikbayan expats returning to retire, or married foreign couples looking for inexpensive retirement. either way the Dumaguete area has a lot to offer.
I was talking to a Brittish couple in just this catagory a week ago. They are both foreign citizens, and looking for a solution to rent/lease a home here. Sounds like you plan suits them well.

 

I am interested in such a project and I have not been to Dumaguete or the PI yet.

I will have to read the business plan/contract/deal to understand it.
