I am certainly no expert and I'm sure you'll get a better answer off the pros on the board....however, I am reminded each time I dive in the area by my qualified instructors and masters that it is highly variant and depends on time of year, weather etc. Are you actually after info on visibility or are you wanting to know where you are likely to be subject to more drift ? ?

Like in Dauin or Zambo you can have spots with currents and spots without currents., depending on the tide, the wind, the bottomstructure. even the depth...

I can find you each day a place with a gentle current and at the same time a place without current.

Your question really can't be answered

    sorry

Rhoody. Do you know if the tidal currents on Apo ever have been measured? I mean the dangerous divespots there.

    Blackline,
sorry I don't know the speed of the currents there. I had some nice drift-dives at Apo Island. One thing is that at Apo is NO dangerous dive-spot. There are many rumors around. I was diving there maybe 500 dives so far but I never had a dangerous down-current or anything like that.
It becomes dangerous if divers do things they are not supposed to do or Diveshops bring people to places where the conditions are not OK at that time.
I can't drive a formula 1 car because I don't have the knowledge and skills for that (no need to say that I am way to fat and would not fit in it), and unexperienced divers should not go on a fast drift in 25 meters of water.
The Spots on Apo Island are in my opinion quite easy dive-spots, even the faster drift-dives are quite easy. I never had currents like for example in Verde Island/Puerto Galera the washing machine or the Kilima drift where you can have strong down-currents and your bubbles going downward in a straight line. But also this dives are fun with divers who are experienced enough to do this dives...

    cheers

    Rhoody
