When I first moved to Cebu in 1980, I became very close friends with a sensationally corrupt policeman. He was even godfather to my first daughter. To him it was all just a game. He could facilitate anything. The only reason to have a position of authority was to enrich yourself and blow it all on a good time. The NPA made it known that he was sentenced to death and a year later they assassinated him. Now those guys really lack a sense of humor. I miss him a lot.
