Getting a lot of reports from travellers that there is now a big problem with ecoli on Alona beach in Bohol
seems that the philippines is not satisfied with only ruining borocay with rampant uncontrolled development and they wish to spread this to other islands as well.
    well done
Will people in charge of tourism development ever learn?\I doubt it, greed
and short term sighttedness rule and always will by the looks of things.
Looks like the Phils is giving Thailand a run for its money in how many places
they can despoil with uncontrolled tourism. The Philippines has had a slow and late start but looks like they are still in the race.
    very SAD!!!

Yes, very sad indeed. In this part of the US as well, "dead zones" have been discovered where the lack of oxygen in the water has left a "bed" of dead crabs and no fish to be seen. In an area known for it's (former) abundance of sea life this is a hard shot of reality. Clearly a global problem but no true leadership in any country being provided to deal with it.
