Well, I just got a PM from PatO telling me his way of "proper". It was so nasty that it had to be a PM. However, it was an interesting concept.

In Texas (and Mexico), most people lick the back of their hand and sprinkle salt on it. You hold a lime wedge. You then lick the salt, drink the shot and bite on the lime slice. It's a tradition type thing. Usually after the 4th or 5th shot you forget about the salt and lime.

I had goat meat in the states and liked it. Been tempted to buy some at hypermart and try it. Hey I'm a Marine, I'll eat just about anything that doesn't eat me first.

Pfotoguy, you must have had the same DI I did for survival training. If it moves, kill it and eat it to stay alive. To be honest, I don't like squid (too chewy) and I've never had cat or dog (that I know of). I do love both grilled rattlesnake, as served in Arizona and Nevada, and deep fried alligator (tail) served in most upscale restaurants in Houston, and like you, I'll try anything once.

Do you members know there's a restaurant in Dumaguete that specializes in horse?
Horse steaks, horseburgers, horse adobo ect....
It's on Pinilli, close to the LDS church.

Gina's Kabayo-an is more a normal eatery. I think it is only Sunday they serve fresh horse dishes. had mixed experience there, but I am biased, had almost unlimited horse products supply in Germany by a world-class horse butcher
