Jim, a ruptured eardrum does not hold you back from Scuba diving. There are masks out since a few years sealing your ears and you equalize with a tube from the actual mask to the ear-cover.

An instructor colleague has it since 5 years and did probably 4000 dives that way. Additional if a eardrum was ruptured that long ago, it should be closed now.

Check with a dive-medic, not only your normal doc. If he can give you an ok, I bring you under water for a check

Rhoody my ears still ruptured, are those mask 100% water tight, if so I will purchase one. Have to keep ear dry.

Organically grown (at least reportedly organically grown) food is common here; but not in shops. Although what you mean by biological in uncertain, it seems there are several replies to this part of your message. Did they answer your want?

If you are in a good part of Dumaguete, you will not be smoked at meal times, when neighbors want to dispose of nasty waste, or at sunrise and sunset. Otherwise just remind yourself that those smoke-generating folks are gentle people.

Yes there are such people around. And some of them would be pleased to meet you to talk about philosophy. Where you hinting at meeting some such?
