    i wanted to introduce myself and thank those that replied to my initial posting asking for advice on housing. my name is jim and i now live in frigid new hampshire in the usa about 60 miles north of boston. my wife and daughter and i will be retiring to dumaguete in the next year or so. she is from nagbalaye near santa catalina. she owns ocean front property in litid and this houses her family. its too rural for my taste and prefer dumaguete area. are there some usa expats? what clubs are available for socialization?
    thank you for this forum. its been of immense help.

    Hi Jim,
    I know Litid very well. Your wife probably knows or heard of the "Gamo Families", also my friend owns the resort in Litid. Indeed, it's too rural that the owner frequently goes to Bayawan or Dumaguete. There's lots of expats in Dumaguete and neighboring towns. Some were affiliated with the Rotary Club, Golf, Tennis, Diving, Amateur Boxing, etcetera - up to your hobbies and humanitarian preferences. I am positive you will like it here. Good Luck!

    my wife indeed knows the gamo family, in fact, they are cousins. i personally have met ami gamo. her land is almost next door to the resort. i bought the land from same person. are there many usa expats in bayawan and or dumagete? thank you for replying jim and violy and rachel

    Wow! We could be related. Honestly, I have no clue how many US expats in Bayawan or Dumaguete but they're around.
