Wow, I thought I had a pretty good handle on Filipino foods, but unless these are known by other names I only recognize Halang Halang Manok...

Can you suggest a restaurant or restaurants for trying the others? I'm always game for something new.

Salamat ka-ayo. Felisa, where is the best place to eat in Tanjay and Bais. Foods should include bihon or pancit guisado and siopao, my wife and 2 kids has stomach for it , especially adodo with hot steaming rice. I know Tanjay has delicious bud-bud (our very own power bar).
Thanks for the invite. I'll just enjoy my fiesta in Bacong during our stay.

    Hi,

There are a few decent eateries by the Plaza,Kusina ni Mona, My Place and Bebe's. We have the Hotel Atilano and Melania's Garden too.

The best Budbud is across the elementary school on the highway.

    Sir guru,
All 6 dishes mentioned are bisayan. Tugnos is a small cleared body fish, mala-langsi is bigger version but shiny with few scales. Most locals always rely on buying in the market and take home and cook or eat seviche style (binak-haw) with rice or corn. To eat tugnos is buying in the market late afternoon or early morning. Buy the ingriedients too, kalamansi (lemon), sili (hot pepper) optional, sea salt and onion. Enjoy.
    Jose
