    The Good, Bad, And Ugly Of Dumaguete. On The Ugly Side, The One Complant I Hear From Visitors Is The Poor Air Quality. Locals Tell Me There Are Laws On The Books That Would Improve Air Quality But No One Is Interested.

    Yes, there are laws on the books, called emission standards for automobiles, that nobody here is interested in enforcing because it would eliminate about half the trucks, buses, pedicabs, which are owned in part by local politicians and bigwigs.

    poor air quality, you must be joking

    What are you using as your benchmark ? Try visiting or living in a large Chinese city, or Bangkok for example.

    JUST RETURNED FROM SIAGON, I DID NOT SEE ONE TRUCK, BUS, OR CAR THAT SMOKED. ALSO MEN DID PEE IN THE STREET OR SPIT.
