Hi...I just want to introduce myself...Jim Franklin from the island of oahu in Kaneohe Hawaii.
I joined this site because I now have a new girlfriend in Makati who is pregnant with our new baby.
I read the recent post about US citzenship for the baby and was surprised to learn some new things I did not know.
Currently my plan is to have the baby in Makati and apply for CRBA passport. I'm not concerned about our baby being a futire president, and I plan to spend 1/2 my time in the Philippines with my GF and baby.
I understand that it is much easier for the GF to travel on a fiance visa and that our baby will have a passport, so that is not an issue.
I also may open a new business there in makati so my thoughts are to keep my new family in Phils and travel (with them) back and forth to Hawaii where I also have a business.
Any input would be greatly appreciated....this is all new to me!...and I'm jumping in with both feet. We are 2 months along and baby and Mom are healthy.

Greetings Jim, Hope that some of our members can advise you, but Makati is a way off from Dumaguete!
I wish you well and that your new family will arrive safe and well ( which is also way off)
    hehehe......regards JB

From what I understand that fiance visa is only for your fiance. Good luck with attaching a baby to a fiance visa. You are going to get married, right? Otherwise you will have to sponser the baby, again a lot more paperwork.

Assuming the baby is his child (which you will need to proove) then a CRBA or Consular Report of Birth Abroad should be all you need to then get a passport for the baby and then file the Fiance visa as you mentioned.

It all sounds solid to me.

Jim, I lived in Makati 3 years, high rent and extremly high Meralco electric bills. My suggestion is to look for a place in Fort Bonifacio Taguig which borders Makati, lots of condos and an expanded shopping center/mall called Market Market. Market Market also has a medical clinic that is way cheaper than Makati. Be aware there is a color code day requiring you not to use your car one day a week Mon-Fri, depending on your license number. But hey, if you got big bucks, the hi-so folks live in Makati. Let me know if I can be of more help. Good luck.
