Yah, try Kundutel Hotel (check it out on the web for more info! ). On the other side of the hotel is the Goldenfields. There you have a long line-up of bars and resturants. If you want, when you decide to stay in Kundutel, just inquire at the front desk. I believe they can enlighten you both on what info you need to know.

Golden Fields is considered the safe place for foriegners to go out in Bacolod. It is controlled pretty tightly by Chinese bussiness interests. The problem is it is not where I would take my wife as a rule. There are many KTV pick up places, prostitutes and the like. Ong's disco is a nice upscale place there, but frequented by mostly teenagers and young folk. There is a casino there if that is your interest. The Kund Hotel is a safe upscale hotel and only costs 1100 Pesos last I knew.

 

I heard many months ago that the Kundutel Hotel was going to be converted into some sort of IT centre...glad to hear it is still going..

As far as Goldenfields goes...nice place to spend an evening. I'm on a very short leash...if I go - it is with relatives for some strange reason...LOL...and since I'm not willing to pay for their mattress-flattening excursions...they aren't willing to take me to the fun places anymore......like I don't know who they'll they'll tell/text in five minutes...LOL...

Anyway, there are heaps of fun spots in Bacolod...and I have yet to hear of a long-nose being robbed, assaulted, whatever..there.... even Goldenfields. Not saying it never happened...just never heard of it. There is the odd Filipino assaulting/shooting another one over some grievance...but generally it's as safe as anywhere else. There is a British owned pub in Bacolod...don't know the name off the top of my head and never been there....my compadres head for the Filipino restaurants, usually seafood or chicken....and always terrific...no complaints from me!

 

I have not stayed at the Kund recently, so an update would be appropriate if anyone knows.

 

having lived for 2 years in Pattaya I dont think my wife will be concerned about any dubious delights Bacolod may offer, just looking for places to hang out for a few hours

 

well then your set, just leave your wife at the casino and go to one of the 10 great girlie bars around, two hours plenty of time. garanteed :D

 

i actauly ment the opposite somewhere between 60 and 100,000 working girls in pattaya and I did not stray so i dont think the little delights Bacolod have to offer are going to tempt me
