You may not even have to buy a phone while you are over there.

If you have an old phone that you no longer use, you can go online to find the code to unlock it and then you can use it internationally. We did that with an old mortorola razor and now we will have a phone while we are over there, and all we will have to do is buy a SIM card and minutes to use. Check it out- it may save you money -if you have an old phone laying around the house!

 

I've talked with Nokia and they say if I go to a Nokia Concept store a 1661 model is 2060php not too bad.

this might seem a little pedantic, but you should be able to get a basic Nokia phone new for less than 2000. I'm sure they're likelier to be a tad more expensive than in Cebu, but 1,500 or even perhaps slightly less should be more like it.

even 1,500 is quite a bit more expensive than they sell them at Dubai airport, where they're 20 US dollars. I got a few last time I was there. They make good gifts. Some girl's phone is usually on the point of clapping out.

 

i agree with sir jill you can save more if you have old an old phone and have it unlock here in the philippines just for 1000php you can use your phone by inserting philippine net simcard globe/smart and etc. no need to buy new phone...
