Hill Topper, I think you have misunderstood a little here. I am trying to get British Pounds in to my PNB bank account in Madrid. OR sending her Money, without getting ripped off in the Exchange game. We use an ATM all the time BUT there has to be money in an account to draw on. I get good rates at this end but when Azon draws there is always a shortfall. This was the original Question. $ to Peso no problem, I can agree. £ OR € is not as easy as this. Drawing on my British Bank Via ATM NO problem. Her card has expired. NOW a problem.

Send dollars if you are going to be using Western Union. Let her exchange them locally for a better rate.

:( Thank You all for the input, KDF has hit it on the head once AGAIN! seems no matter What currency I send it is only WU that profits. I sent £1.000 to cover some Emergency stuff there. I was Quoted 68 php to the £ by the bank. The time factor from bank to bank did not fall in line, so I had to send WU. So in the end, my £1.000 or 68.000php as I thought, was only worth 66,500 sent by WU. ++ their fee £40 (2.500php approx) my 68.000 that was sent was 3.500php light. in total Azon only recieved 64.500php. This to me is a total RIP OFF! Given the bank rate, Only ONE winner. Western Union.

I disagree! In the Check Inn hall have the best exchange rates (for euros). At least during April when I have been changing some money.

 

every month i western union to the USA... I spend 5200 piso roughly to receive $101.oo in NY...If the exchange is low dollar value like now its 5200 when it was high it was up to 5400 piso to 101 dollars this includes all fees to transfer and currency exchange cost.....
