Well yabs, this topic has been having my attention before a well as you will recall. I have posted some pictures there of one of it natural preditors the Harlequin Shrimp ( Hymenocera picta) and yet your are right that one of its biggest enemies is hardly to be found in the Philippines anymore nameley the Napoleon Wrasse ( Cheilinus undulatus) I have attached pictures here. Pictures are from the internet I have never seen one in my live beside small ones in my facilities ranging in size of somewhat 10 cm only.
On one of the pictures those brave and very masculine " sportfishers" show a semi adult Male. They claimed on their website that they have place it back in the water and by having water pumped into its mouth no harm was done. Let me remind you that ANY FISH taken OUT OF THE WATER suffers of colapse of the gills.. which is non reverseable...
There is an attempt in Gondol Indonesia and here in Palawan to breed them ( my friend Dr .Elsie Tech / BFAR ) but untill now pure results ,hardly worth to mention. Good Broodstock is needed most.. the fish is highly praise on the Chinese market and helas .. here as well.
One of the projects which I hope we can run on Negros will involve this fish. RHOODY , have you ever come across real GOOD BIG SIZE ones ??

Closing rematks , Yabs , Manual removing them is the only solution !!

The Napoleon wrase is a beautifull fisch.
I have seen many of those at the Madives and in Egypt (red see)
They are so beautifull and are always folowing the divers some times in a very short range
But they are making a big mistake to feet them hard boiled egges.
There were napeoleons at the lighthouse site of Sharm el Scheik in Egypt en the killed tem cos they feed tem to much eggs.
In My opinion dont feed any fisch the nature will do is own job and there is no need to get involved with that.

    Greetings J.Diver

Thank you DIVER for your input here . I am fully with you on that !!
I have been working at the other side of the Sinai Desert that is near Rrash Mohammed a place called EL TUR. We operated a station founded by the Egyptian Governement , the ministery of Agriculture and Fishey that is. I still have a VHS video on that . As we are packing now to move to Duma from @#$%^Manila , I just could save it from my wife eggor to trash it with others.. Likely at the ,RED SEA you will find still some real big guys.. and they are so intelligent . It is a shame and set tears to my eyes wheneve rI see that they kill it in order to deep fry them..

One out of many reasons I am a Vegatarian now...
    Earl

Many people still don't appreciate the impact losing one species has on an eco-system.
