GP, go to a REAL city and hospital, now na, nothing more to say.

Don't do the Jellyfish, who still tries to solve all here and runs from doc to doc without getting anything proper sorted.

Sorry John, but thats how I see it :(

I would go to Silliman or even Guam (U.S. hospitals) long before ever considering on in Cebu.
That is the main reason we are leaving Cebu.
The doctors here are all superstitious and practice more 1950' medicine than not.
Anything I have mentioned to any of them from this century has passed in one ear and out the other.
We have tried Chung Hua, North General and Perpetual Sucker hospitals and all of them seem to think the patient should treat themselves.
They just run expensive tests, stick a bag of water in your arm and let you lie there, racking up the bill for as long as they can convince you to stay.
I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture.

Do what I do here, put a P500 price tag on the dog's life if it bothers you regularly and things will be taken care of very quickly.
There will even be a dog BBQ afterwards for family and friends of the person who killed the beast.
I know nothing much can be done about dogs one encounters on the roadway, but if all of us helped out in this way, it may save at least one rider from pain, disfigurement and even death.

Jim, Crislyn and I pray your problems can be treated properly. Hopefully, you have plan B in place, if needed, Manila Veterans Clinic or back to U.S., if Silliman treatment doesn't cure.

    Thanks

for all the well wishes and concerns. As for the question about diabetes, yes I am a diabetic and have been for 13-14 years. I am also well aware of the problems of an infection in my foot.
As I set here I have my foot is in a bucket of hot water soaking and Maria is on the phone to the V.A. in Manila. I believe that the V.A. could give a rat's @ss if I lost my left leg. I am service connected for diabetes.

    Later folks.

If it were me, I would be on the next plane to Manila and on my way to Makati Med...don't take chances with provincial third world medicine when it comes to stuff like this...

You may recall I had a problem for months getting an infected wound to heal on my left leg. The entire leg from below the knee down turned bright red, and very painful to the touch. I also am mildly diabetic. However, this turned out to be cellulites.

Cellulitis - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

After extensive research and months of fighting it, I doubled up on the recommended dose of coamoxiclav, (3000 miligrams per day) and two months later it appears I have finally beaten it.

The doctors here are not worth the trouble in most cases.

brucewayne. You took the words out of my mouth. In other places I have lived in the Philippines there were many stray dogs. Many of them enjoyed barking all night. I read up on easy solutions and it was suggested automotive coolant would do the trick and that is exactly what I did and have done ever since. Very effective in killing them as they enjoy the taste. 3 days later many dead dogs and peace and quiet. I like the 500 peso solution as well.
