You did an excellent job converting your bus!! Thanks for sharing the pictures and hopefully you'll get a couple pics of you and your wife together next time. How long have you been working on the conversion?

I worked on the inside for a little less than two years, but it sat in storage for about six months of that. I only wish I knew how many hours I spent. I worked on it every day after work until dark and every weekend, often all the daylight hours, even in 114 degree heat!
I bought the bus on eBay. I managed to get it for $920! The people who auction them for schools said that was the cheapest they'd ever seen one go. It was in Baltimore, so my wife and i flew there, toured Washington and Philadelphia, then drove it 1000 miles home. We made a week long trip of it and did some sight-seeing. The engine had just been rebuilt, and it didn't use a drop of oil. I've taken it to Houston a couple of times, Mexico once and Oklahoma.
I made the speakers so they swing around and point out the windows if you're partying outside. I want to put an awning on it. But next thing is to finish painting the outside.
The idea is to have a bus I can take to oldies festivals, etc. to promote the book once it's finished.
For more about the book and the festival, see my website.
