⌛ Golden Retriever (male)

I'd like to buy a Golden retriever puppy with papers with fair price. Any idea?

Hi Lai..have you ever had a golden retriever before? Very nice dogs, but most (not all - a few brilliant exceptions out there) are incredibly stupid. I've had one, my daughter had one, and put their brains together you wouldn't match a cockroach. They are legendary down here for being dumb. I feel the brains have been bred out of them. Bit sad. Even the dumb ones are very pleasant dogs otherwise...

 

Never had one.


P.S. Where are they now?

 

We gave ours to a farmer who already had a couple of them....but I'm sure it has passed away by now of old age. The other one was run over by a car....
Like I said, not entirely negative on them....very good with kids...gentle and would never bite...but totally useless as guard dogs for example....and very hard to train. But there are exceptions. Check out the parents and if they exhibit some intelligence - you may get lucky.

 

You can check the pet supply shop around the corner from the police station. You could also ask at Ricky's bakerey. They always have signs around the store for certian types of dogs,they would know for sure

Perhaps but there is a news story today about one that saved its 11 year old master from a Cougar in Canada!

I have heard they are not the best watch dogs but I have also heard they a protective of their family...that carries a lot of weight in book.

good day! if you want many choices of golden ret, you can check www.sulit.com.ph then check on pets category and the feedbacks of the advertisers to lessen worries and doubts... Enjoy having a best friend...

 

(Again), Try Acunya's the vets, at Harold's Mansion area, or Dumaguete Animal Clinic across the road from NOHS on National Highway, the vets may know of recent litters, also try Why Not or other bar/resto notice boards, they may be posted.
As for stupidity, I personally think that "barrio terriers"(local dogs), must rank right up there with the best of them too.:D
