Hand shaking is a Western thang. And as all Westerner's know, it is near impossible to not want to shake a person's hand. In Thailand, Western style wave to come here, with hand up, has sexual connotations . Hands down means come here. I shake a person's hand as a show of respect. I also wash my hands before I eat. No matter what country I am in.
I usually only shake hands when there are huge groups of persons going by my home, than I insist to the Wife to let me handroll 200 spring rolls for my inlaws. A Mans got to think outside the box. Cheers!
