Does anyone have health insurance besides Philhealth?
I have a pre existing condition and to get SRRV visa I need proof of insurance good in PI.
I have read that the 13a visa wants health records but never asks for them. Do I need to be in good health?
So I'm looking for ins. and wonder what people are using.
    Thank you

True about them not asking for your medical records despite it stating that you need to provide them at your interview, I have had a broken leg since 1984 and no steel plate/ pins/ screws etc to hold the break together since 1985 when they removed all metal due to infection and rejection, so I have a REAL break in the bone next to my Hip joint which requires I use a Crutch to walk, and despite being obviously disabled, not one single question at my 13a interview as to my health, my disability etc... I think it all boils down to 'appearances' and how you represent yourself during the interview.

As for extra Insurance I also would like to hear more on this as I am not really convinced Philhealth is what I will be needing in time to come...

I believe Blue Cross/Blue Shield plan is accepted here in the PI. I have GEHA at this time, but I'm thinking about switching to BCBS even though the monthly fee is higher.

I have checked with Cigna global. They have it but kind of spendy. I think it was about 350us per month. There must be cheaper ins.

Check with the area hospitals and VERIFY what insurances they accept and will file before signing up with any insurance. Never assume anything in the Philippines. If the hospital cannot or will not file you will be stuck paying the bill.

The latest Philhealth thread seems not good. Any updates about this private insurance?

It seems all of their websites are down. I would go in person the the PhilHealth office (either at Robinson's Mall or the one next to Mercury Drug on National Highway). You can fill out paperwork, get info, etc.....
