i have had the problem of showing up for my reservation at hotels in the phils and finding out that my room was given to somone else ( probably slipped the employees 100-200 pesos etc...). i get a room but not the one i booked--a severe downgrade. both in DGTE and cebu. is this endemic to the place or is my incident isolated?? later JL
i've had that happen several times both in the fils and panamá and i've been offered ''downgraded'' rooms at a reduced rate and ''upgraded'' rooms at the canceled room price. i like to think it's more a matter of bookkeeping then getting bumped. norm : ))~
I reckon you must be just unfortunate unless a lot of other people also report a spate of this happening. I have never had this happen to me in the Philippines. Unless the hotel is booked for me at corporate rate, I always make bookings myself on line through asiatravel.com and have never found myself roomless.
