It’s cheaper than Gohotel where I always go but I heard they don’t have a generator.

I'm curious if you have stayed here or just found it on the 'net? I ask because I have stayed in a few hotels in Dumaguete that look great online and the price is right, example Nicanor. But when I got to Nicanor there were no windows in the cheap room and the light bulb was burnt out. I pointed it out to the front desk and they replaced the light bulb - and added 88 pesos to my bill for the cost of the light bulb.

I have actual experience in the Novo that I mentioned and also know others who recommend it. There are vast numbers of cheap hotels and pensions around Dumaguete these days and personal reviews are worth 100 google searches IMHO. Thus I ask if you personally checked it out and what is your personal review?

When I left I would have taken the bulb and smashed it on the beddings :p

Some things are just so weird, even for here.

i stayed at the Check-in near duma immigration a few years ago. it was under 1000 a nite and decent, just ask for a room in the back unless you like road noise.

i recently stayed at the tip top hotel, on the south hiway, near rob's mall for around p800 a nite which was 100 less than the online price.

be sure to ask for a room with a window if that's a concern.

Royal QXV is new and clean. I didn't get a window, though. There is a window (glass block) between the shower and the bedroom! Very revealing! Internet was awful. I was okay with the room, but I found the whole setup "strange." It is setup (I think) for the discreet tryst. But it is new and clean and worth the price if you only need a comfortable place to sleep. My room was very quiet.
