    Another newbie,

    Greetings and salutations

I first visited Dgte in 1999, then ended up living there from 2001-2003/4 in Candau-ay.

We drove/rode all around Negros Island while we lived there, which is about the same area as New Jersey if you're interested, and know Negros fairly well.

I could almost see the traffic increasing little by little as time went by...after being gone 3yrs, I can just imagine what it's like now.

    - Still have my Shakey's discount card, wonder if it's still any good?

    Welcome to Dumaguete Info

Do you have some interesting pictures from your trips around Negros to share with us?

I don't think so. Actually in too many ways, one area is like another. Even my wife, who hadn't seen much of anywhere in PI found it less exciting than she'd thought it would be.

It's all so cool when you first come to Dgte and Negros, but once the international newness wears off, they're just small towns with no surprises.

I liked Kabankalan though, and have some camcorder footage of the 4x4 off road competition near ..where was that(?) along Mabini Rd I think after you turn left off the highway up past Tanjay and...dunno, it's been too long !

I might have had some pics of the big sugar cane operation north of Bacolod, or of the old restored sugar baron house in Silay, but if so those pics are long gone.

There's a lot of distances between places, and the places are small once you get to, or go through them.

I'm going to take a look at San Carlos closer this time.
