Greetings. This is my first post to the Dumaguete boards.
I'm currently living in the US, but am considering an expat position in Cavite City.

My preference will be to live in an urban area with many restaurant, nice bar and shopping selections. I understand that Manila is a very long commute due to traffic conditions.

What are some good living area options that meet my criteria?
Is there a boat or water taxi that could take me from downtown Manilla to Cavite City?

Welcome to the forum. Sorry can't help you with this. Don't know anything about Manila to Cavite.
So maybe some members here can offer their assistance. Dumagueteinfo is about Dumaguete and Negros Oriental and Occidental. Good luck!

It is a long drive from Manila to Cavite, perhaps one hour, of course that depends on where you are going in each of those cities. I do not know if there is a water taxi or any other mode of transportation. I know it gets very hot there. I was there last April, which is the hottest month of the year and it was sweltering. Cavite used to be a farming area but it has grown as lot in the last 10 years or so.
