Reckless driving?

Reckless driving! You must be joking! My first visit to Butuan was a shocker for me. I had never saw such crazy driving. I call it crazy because I had never seen anything like it before. Once at a red light, I remember some motorized tricylces huddled together like a herd of cattle waiting for the gap to open so they can rush through. I remember this because I was in one of the tricyles. I looked back and the driver behind us had almost driven his tricycle up in the one I was in.
During my stay in Butuan, I experienced traveling on the different modes of transportation. I even shared a ride with some chickens. It was some experience!

I looked back and the driver behind us had almost driven his tricycle up in the one I was in.
During my stay in Butuan, I experienced the different modes of land transportation. I even shared a ride with some chickens. It was an experience I won't forget.

 

Communication

The Filipino "yes" can mean several things. It can mean 'yes, as in yes we have it". Or it can mean 'yes, but no we don't have any'. It can even mean 'yes, but no way'! When my Filipina wife and I first got married I had a difficult time communicating with her. I have since learned the different meanings of her "yes".

 

Being an American I was told that the Filipino people spoke and understood english. Was I in for a shock when I first visted the Philippines! The ones who spoke and understood english refused to. I said some stuff that I still don't know how it was interpreted.

 

Who needs english when all you have to know is the right grunts, or gestures such as pointing with the lips? I have become quite fluent in grunting being taught by my beautiful, wonderful filipina asawa.

 

O, yes! the grunts and gestures with the lips. I am still learning.

Those Filipino folks always come up with some good ones. They are a happy-go-lucky breed.
