⌛ PLDT phone

We have a visa client that needs the use of a PLDT phone. Is there such a line in Duma?

They used too have an office on Perdices st. just past Aldea in the western union office but not sure if it still exists. Otherwise the closest one I know of is in Bais

 

Tanjay has PLDT line, oh poor dumaguete they have the Call Center PLDT Ventus here, yet only Lease line are possibly available. No PLDT office vissible here so far.

 

I saw advertisements a few months ago that they are now installing PLDT landlines here. But I don't know where we should apply for PLDT landline phones.

 

What they currently have in Dumaguete is Wireless Landline... and through CruzTelco which if I'm not mistaken is riding on PLDT's network backbone.

 

I am not sure if or where they are signing up new customers. But, it was confirmed to me by the manager at Globe that PLDT is indeed expanding into DGT and will be offering landlines and DSL in the future.

The wireless landline product is pretty cool and seems to work well in Cebu...very popular. Strange though, because at least as of a couple months ago you could buy a wireless SIM here in town, but only with a Cebu number. As far as I can tell there is really no difference between the wireless landline and wireless SIM though, right?

 

That may be a result of PLDT's acquisition of Cruztelco. I think it was earlier this year or late last year that PLDT acquired Cruztelco.

I'd still go for Globe's DUO/SUPERDOU service though, unlimited mobile-to-landline (in the area where you registered) and if superduo, unlimited Globe-to-Globe/TM on top of the unlimited landline. Too bad its not currently offered in Dumaguete. Used it in Manila and works perfectly.

 

PLDT, through it's subsidiary Smart Broadband, aquired Cruztelco last year.

Nothing Globe has ever done in this area could one term "perfect". Globe screwed me when I first moved here 6 years ago, and never have they gotten my pesos since. In the more remote areas here I think you will find Smart has much better coverage.

The Globe office in Dumaguete, one of the tallest and nicest buildings on the boulevard, does not have a landline phone. What does THAT say about their service?

Haha... different experience for different folks maybe... hehehe... my Globe Visibility works perfectly fine in Dumaguete, online 24hrs when I'm in Dumaguete. Got my Iphone with them too... hehehe...

Learned that Globe doesn't generally give out the landline numbers of their business centers, they would generally refer you to their hotline... heheeh

 

There are many of us who would not consider Dumaguete "remote". It would say much about their service if it DIDN"T work in Duma city! If one lives outside the city, most will find much better coverage with Smart.

If you're happy, that's all that matters.
