The increase in prices of commodities is a global problem now.So maybe it’s time to think to be “stingy”

I dont know all the details but, I can say that I have seen cocodiesel up at Clark airbase for sale at the gas station.

I still am not convinced there is a rice shortage.

I would rather see some kind of fuel being developed or some kind of substitute for petrol than this extra 'pork' money going into a bridge to nowhere or some politicians pocket.

What I cannot understand is the fact that the government is even entertaining the use of Jatropha. Why not use sugar cane to make ethanol? That way if you dont use the sugar cane for ethanol, the cane can be used to make sugar. What happens if electric cars goes gangbusters and becomes the mode of transportation? Or Hydro? What will you do with all the jatropha? With sugar cane you can make sugar and molasses and from the molasses, other nice products! By the way, what happened to the electric jeepneys up in Bacolad?

Who is selling the Jatropha? Might be the clue.
They are as I understand in some parts of the Philippines using the parts of the sugar cane that is waste and converting that to ethanol.

i actually prefer corn grits over rice... its really nothing to be ashamed about for the locals, and i think its healthier to eat lots of corn grits than eat lots of rice. thats what i tell the locals myself when i get the chance to chit chat with a few of them.

this is what i cant understand myself. the problem has been a threat for decades now here in the Phils, but seems nothing has progressed for that span of time, save the cover ups during news interviews!

went to the barbershop near the market today, and noticed the long lines everywhere to buy the cheap NFA rice. Apparently there is a big impact on the regular folks who depend on cheap rice to eat. They are limiting purchases to 3 kilos per day.

We recently paid 1900 Pesos for a 50 kilo sack of "good" rice. It honestly all looks the same to me.
