    :(

Got one for my better half, what a waste of money.

The touchscreen is a hit-or-miss affair, functions maybe do/maybe don't work.

    And no refunds or exchanges.

For a cheap touchscreen, the Samsung Champ can't be beat.

My wife is looking for a decent Ipod/Iphone?
There are a lot of 4G units out there, but she wants an 8G.
Blackberry has a nice 16G unit, but it is mainly meant for business applications and they has to be subscribed after you purchase the unit.
I am confused, maybe someone can enlighten me and lead me in the right direction.

Find an Android phone. Get the screen size you want. Add a larger SD card if you want more memory,

I think you are confusing something, 4G is probably the Data protocol that is being used,
most Smartfones have much more than only 4Gigabyte of memory.
Have a look at this one from ZTE, Blade also known as Orange San Francisco, it's sold for about 200$ open line.

Actually, I know nothing about cellphones.
I am going by the ads I have read and an Austrian friend's info.
What numbers should we be looking for when buying?
    Any help is appreciated.

There are several manufacturers that make Android phones. I found a couple at Robinsons but they have the smaller screens. The one with the nice big 4" touch screen also has a nice price to go along with it. Just ask the phone dealers and they will tell you what phones they have that are android. In the states HTC is a main manufacturer the phone I liked here was made by LG I think.

I am using a Nexus One I bought before leaving the states. You can find them on ebay but I'm afraid the import taxes would really hurt unless you have a friend back home you can ship too, then have them send it to you in a balikbayan box.

As for the 4G networking I do not think it is available in the Ph. 3G works pretty good here and in Cebu and probably most larger cities.

As far as memory most phones have a removable card for storage and can be upgraded easily. Not so sure about that for the iPhone.
