Are there Toastmasters Club members residing in Dumaguete? I wonder if there are those interested in forming one here.

I must admit I also needed to smile about this thread and look up what toastmasters are.

next to the other thread I just watched season 2 of BBQ-Pitmasters, so my mind was a kind of food-fixed.

well now you really confuse me entirely. I thought toastmasters is a worldwide operating, but american non-profit club for leadership development.

I was aware that toastmaster was a kind of job which involves dressing funny and talking/acting like a gay announcer on a local beauty contest, so I guess not that hard to find a quite a crowd of them in dumaguete ;P so not only a Brit thingy... hehe :D

I still somehow believe that most people who drive on the correct side of the road connect the "toastmaster club" not with the job in england.

Anyway, maybe the OP will shine a light on that as we obviously have the need for clarification and potential interested people:

toastmaster UK (all local beauty contest and wedding moderators)
toastmaster club (I would be interested to know more)
toastmaster "golden bread" (SurfinUSA)

 

More info on Toastmasters' Club at . It is an international organization with thousands of members who want to improve their public speaking and leadership skills. There are about 7 Toastmasters' Clubs around Bacolod City and 17 in Cebu but none in Dumaguete.
I am a member of a club overseas but since retiring in Dumaguete, I wonder if there are other members or potential members in Dumaguete who might want to organize one.

 

In the UK, the Toastmaster is the Master of Ceremonies at "black-tie" formal dinners. He is usually dressed in tie and tails, or in scarlets, which the military guys would know as "mess kit". He does not sit down at the table but instead hovers in the background. After the Loyal Toast, he will announce each after dinner speaker with "Pray silence for................."
