Will be going to Sipalay later this month from either Tanjay City or Dumaguete. Does anyone know what is the best route? Anyone have the current Ceres schedule? Will I need to transfer buses in Bayawan city? Any information will be appreciated! Thank you!

Best route would be going through Bayawan. I've heard the roads are decent most of the way to Sipalay. Not sure on the bus, my guess would be a switch in Bayawan.

Used to be switch in Hinoba-an, I would guess still the same. Road's in good shape as compared to years gone by...

D, your bus would make it no problem through Bayawan. Only 3 or 4 transitions over some small bridges, other than that a great road now....

Compared to what it was like 5 years ago, the road from bayawan to sipalay is great now.

Yeah, but I think he is talking about taking the cheap bus.

It's been several years since we took the bus there, but at that time the bus out of Duma only went as far as Hinoba-an, then you had to change buses and get on another bus to get to Sipalay/Kabankalan etc... Things may have changed since then.

Nobody mentioned going through Mabinay to Kabankalan then switching busses to Sipalay. Wouldn't this be a better option if already in Tanjay (much faster and better roads, except for a bit of construction on the Mabinay side)?

SteveB.......I had thought of that too but was unsure if a Ceres bus would originate from Tanjay or if I would have to get it in Dumaguete anyway. I guess it would be going through Tanjay anyway.....just a matter of if any more seats are available. Thanks for the input.
