If you are drilling a well some cities will test the water for free. As far as what they test for you will not get much of an answer in the Philippines. They will only say that it is OK for drinking or not. LOL!
Apparently the Provincial Hospital on the National Highway will test for bacteria and living nasties. Anything else (heavy Metals, etc) has to go to Cebu and costs a bunch ... Check and see what's up in them thar hills that can leech into the water table is probably the best bet and see if any neighbors have wells and bad experiences. If a Well, the deeper you go, generally the better
That's my wife thanking everyone. She wants to get wells checked in the poor provinces and maybe implement simple sand filters to clean the water if it is substandard.
