⌛ What Is "firm"

Several times when riding my bicycle in the countryside, well out into the wild suburbs of Barangay Batinguel, I have noticed little bamboo cages installed at the side of the road. These are painted red and contain new plantings.

Each is labelled "FIRM". I do not understand the meaning of the word "FIRM" in this context. My family members are equally unfamiliar with this term.

Anyone know?

Anyway, I found this picture in the internet. You know Imelda Marcos still got billions of dollars and paid followers.

 

Let me get this straight, this is her attempt to enrich the lives of her fellow Philippinos?

 

Oh yes, of course. To enlist followers the FIRM offers a P250,000 "loan" that does not need to be paid back. Of course, nobody has ever reported actually recieving this "loan" after they enlist!

It's all empty promises, members are promised thousands of pesos, but at least they do have a lot of tree planting projects.
