not a characteristic of Friesland really more west Friesland what is just plain Holland :D

would say Friesland is also famous for its lakes, it is the best place to spend a sailing vacation and of course it islands and wadden (well that would not make much of an impression if the Phillipines I guess but there are not that many around in the North sea).

well Eeuwe maybe I bring an oranjekoek rather then speculaas then, we got our own family recipe.

I am not born in Friesland myself and just understand the language not speak it.
