We were in town today to get my computer fixed, and after we got the computer back from the computer store we went to Boston Market Restaurant to have dinner.

We have walked past Boston Market many times, and talked about trying out this place but never got around to it.

The interior is very stylish, it is simple but they have a really nice ambiance in there. Also the chairs, while being extremely uncomfortable for big guys like us, they provide privacy because the backs of the chairs are so big that it is almost like you are eating in a little cubicle.

On to ordering our food, a cute and very attentive waitress took our order, everything came out as ordered and we were surprised by the quality compared to the rock bottom prices in the Boston Market, I ordred a pasta dish at P48... 48 freggin' Pesos, how do these people make money? this pasta dish was delicious and obviosly cooked from scratch using fresh ingredients... It just amazes me that they can stay in business with prices like that. A Coke(355ml bottle) was P20 and a Diet Coke(330 ml can) P35

Overall 5 thumbs up, and we will definately be back in Boston Market Restaurant here in Dumaguete City.

I agree. I love their pasta. They grow their own basil and I think some other herbs.

I'm a bit disappointed though with their clam chowder. I think they replaced the potatoes with "kamote" (a root crop).

Nonetheless, I'm still a regular customer. I usually eat my dinner there on Sundays or Mondays.

We ordered a whole bunch of different food to check out the place, and everything we got was great

We will try out some more menu items next time... But thanks for the warning on the chowder

The only complaint we had about the place was indeed the chairs, man they are hard and uncomfortable...

But I think we might go back to Boston Market tomorrow

We made it in to Boston Market yesterday to try the pizza out, we picked the beef and mushroom pizza which was way too sweet for me. So I will stay on their ala carte menu from now on

On the other hand, our appetizer the Spaghetti Pomodore Basilico at P48 was fantastic - perfectly cooked pasta with a freshly made sauce.

    GREAT

I wonder if this is the same Boston Market we have here. The logo is different, but some of the menu items you mention sound similar. Of course, I assume the menu wouldn't be totally identical. Still, I am quite sure it is a healthier alternative to McDonald's

I was thinking the same thing when I saw the title of this post. Then I saw the picture and the different logo. I don't recall the chain in the US serving pasta.

It is a bit odd that a restaurant in PI have a name like this.

PI does like to make copycats of popular items, local or foreign. Maybe this is an attempt at a copycat, but with a copycat they typically try to copy the logo as well. For all we know this one could have been around before the restaurant chain in the US.

I just found an article about the Boston Market which makes it sound much more formal than the fast-food chain here in America. It appears the head chef received his culinary training in Florida of all places. So, why the name Boston Market?

"Because the name provides perfect contrast for what the restaurants wants to stand for. "Boston" connotes culinary class, and excellent food. The word "market" is there to tone down, just a little bit, that connotation. It becomes then the best of all worlds-classy, fine food for sheer value."
