Mango is a great fruit, and it is healthy too

We were walking on the street in Dumaguete City and passed this guy selling mango fruits. I did not check his prices cause I had no intentions buying fruit at that time. But they looked great

Yeah, I kind of fell in love with the mango as well. I had never tasted one in my life, and I suppose I have been spoiled because there are probably none better than what I had over there. I don't eat enough fruit, but I think I made up for it over those two weeks. I simply couldn't stop eating them....delicious and healthy :D

    And they were so cheap!

I hate the thought I can't find any Philippine mangos here and it's all true .That's one of the fruits I missed a lot here in the UK.There are mangos you can buy here but from the carribean origin, or from India and the taste are far less or nothing compared to the Philippine mangos.I tried searching Filipino groceries in london but to no avail, sad.But why the Philippines didn't do a lot improving the quality standards needed to push more exports of their mangos overseas ,esp here in uk.I can only enjoy these mangos during my short visits and that's it ;-(

Marilyn had a way of cutting them up so that you just tilted your head back and they slid right out of their skin...and into your mouth. I didn't have to do any work preparing them, so perhaps that made them even better

I remember that we stopped near a market in Bacong. There was a young man selling mango that likely had been picked off their trees earlier in the day. We bought something like a pound or two (or several pounds, I can't remember) for the same price as I can get one grapefruit at the grocery store down the street from me. I just remember thinking how much fruit we had gotten for next to nothing. Marilyn cut them up and I just kept eating...and I'm not even sure how many I had. I lost count :D
