Yup, I'm working here for now. My husband has a very good job here, so we might be in it for the long haul. Wow, it's wonderful that you had the chance to do all those things! I haven't done the dune bashing and water taxi yet. And I haven't had the chance to dine at Burj Al Arab, but it's definitely on my to-do list!! (For those who are not too familiar with it, it's the only 7-star hotel in the world, and the cheapest room costs $1,000 per night. The tour and meal cost about $100.)

I've done pitifully small tourist trips here and in Oman, just the cruise and the gold souk, museums, camel-riding, etc, but I hope to remedy that soon! Other things I plan to do here are the kite boarding and the hot air balloon. Looks like so much fun! I haven't even tried skiing at the slopes at Mall of the Emirates yet, though everyone I know went as soon as it opened. It's set to be the biggest mall in the world.

Other stuff to see here in the coming year: Burj Dubai, the tallest building in the world, which will finish by 2010 I think, they're doing one storey a week, so I'm questioning the safety of this monster. Dubailand, where they're building a Vegas-type strip with all of the humongous hotels representing different countries and eras. The man-made Palm Islands and The World. These are all islands that are in progress and are only for extremely rich people who can afford to buy property there (i.e. Donald Trump, David Beckham, Michael Jackson, Brad Pitt all have properties there).

Ok, I'm done with my Dubai spiel.
