Well, not claiming to be a saltwater aquarium expert, but we do enjoy having a small tank an dsome specimens we catch here by the house. Maybe someday we will get a much bigger setup, but for now this basic P3,000 rig runs fine for us... a major cleaning once every 3 months or so with routine water cycling (a few fresh buckets from the sea every week) keeps everything running fine.

Thought I would post a few pics of us playing around getting the latest specimens... MUCH harder then you would think since we are using nets, not slurp guns....

The water is not cold at all, I am wearing the dive skin to keep down the amount of sunburn that I get. I love the water to much to stay in when the sun is shining and routinely pay the price for it...

The area behind me in the first photo is the northern edge of the Maayong Tubig Marine Sanctuary... It is actually difficult at the moment to determine where it actually starts as the floating boundary vanished during the last few months. I think the fisherman you see in the background are outside the sanctuary, but they are definitely close... with the current flowing north to south I am surprised they did not drift into it whil ewe were there, but they may have after we left....

    Cruelty To Fish?!?

THought I woul dpost a few more pictures of the aquarium setup and the fish that we have at present. There is a small lobster in there somewhere, but he does a good job of hiding and I didn' tfeel like digging for him today.

The fish live a pretty good life and every few weeks we rotate everyone back into the ocean so we can start catching again... maybe it is mean to keep them this close to the sea....
