Last April 2005, we spent our Holy week at Lakawon Island in Neg Occ off Cadiz City... A beautiful private Island, i think with just 2 km stretch.. sort of like a huge sandbar, with the beach at the front and back of your room. Beautiful and laidback indeed! I just wanted to share some pictures of this nice and serene place.

    Beautiful paradise

That looks like an awesome place to unwind after a busy week in the office

    Any good diving there?

It's really very beautiful and quiet compared to boracay and very laid back... although it's quite far the trip is worth it.
I'm not quite sure though about the diving, i'll ask and get back to you on that.

how to get there hmmm... i think what we did was drove from cadiz to a certain barangay 15 miniutes across from Lakawon Island (forgot the name, but i'm sure if you ask the locals there they'll know) then rode a boat (owned by Victor Puey, who owns the island) towards Lakawon.. I guess they call "Lakawon" because if its low tide you can basically walk towards the island! It's nothing really fancy, but i really loved it there, especially when your with people that matter most in your life. here are some more pix.. one is with my daughter night swimming in crystal clear waters!

Beautiful, It looks like Boracay 20 years ago! Where did you stay? Is there a resort there?

    Thanks

Thats exactly the first thing we said when we got there! It seemed like Boracay 20 years ago! The year before we were in boracay and I was disappointed because it wasnt as i expected it to be. We couldnt swim much since there was a lot of sea weeds floating near the shore! And instead of the water being blue it was a murky green! :(

Anyway, its just a small resort, nothing fancy. Its also operated by the Island owner. PRobably around 6 rooms available. 3 aircon and 3 non aircon.

Here's a picture of the bar and thats the house of the owner at the back.
