DHL seems costly. What about the PI Postal system? Any other international shippers that aren't so costly??

My father send us sometimes parcels using the PI postal system like presents for the kids like clothings ,sweets, handicrafts ,not really costly items . But like important documents ,better use a diff one ,not the PI postal sytem for assurance and safety.

But sending bulk of items from UK to PI,completely NO WAY using the PI postal system .Great chances are those items will end up with somebody else enjoying them.

Depends on what you plan to send. For packages (boxes) sent through the postal system it would take 45 days or so. I've tried that several years ago.

If you're talking of small parcels then I guess you can send it through registered mail which would take about 2 weeks.

I don't know how others have fared but we have a terrible track record with letters containing anything besides a sheet or two of paper. Those with pictures tend to never arrive (my wife reckons that postal employees think the pictures are being used to disguise dollars)...tried a few packages years ago but almost zero success. Door-to-door the only way to go...

Can't blame so many not trusting the PI post .Myself always have doubts about parcels I send from here through Philippine post.Though items that are low costing like chocolates had arrived .Items like rain coat, shirts, childrens toys in small parcels ,it's a laugh if they will all arrive intact .My experience was I sent a small parcel for a small nephew ( a cousin's son ) in Cebu consisting of those items mentioned above as christmas present. I was very furious when I knew several items were missing and only the chocolates had arrived.I also sent a picture frame with picture of kids here to my parents,it arrived 5 months later. Since then ,I only use philippine post sending cards ,odd letters ,that's it. The rest are sent through Balikbayan boxes which actually are very economical though bit longer 6-8 weeks. There's also quicker way door to door airmail options or urgent items.

I might just be in luck. I've told my sister to post us small denominations of peso notes worth 10,000 pesos and it was delivered just last week to use when we fly back next week. It was registered air mail and took 8 working days delivery. But don't trust post office when it comes to documents, we use fed-ex.

Incoming mail is always up for pilfering. I wonder if the PI post office workers think there's anything of value in the mail heading out of PI ?
