There is a Habagat store @Robinsons. Do not have a email address but have replied to one obtained from the internet so still awaiting a response.

Does anyone in the forum have any knowledge of where to obtain a flameless heat pack? I can get them here in Australia, and they work really well. Have already enquired with Customs & Border Protection...They have advised that I can take them out of the country but I need authorisation with the Philppine Embassy in Australia to confirm due to laws and regulations. Still awaiting feedback

    What they do :
They are like a sachet in two sizes. You put them in a container (I use the tiffin carriers as they are stainless steel and have dual layers). Put a pack on bottom carrier, add 120ml of water and wait for 7 minutes and it will cook at 90 degrees under boiling point to cook food, make a hot drink, etc. and stay hot for up to 20mins or so. Great for hiking which I plan to do so no need for butane canisters which I cant find anywhere, even in Cebu...on order since my last visit 2 years ago...the will heat up my Back Country cuisines that I will also bring over.

They have been around for years but were expensive to purchase the heat packs, mainly used by defence for their MRE's (Meals Ready to Eat).

If no one has answers, I guess I will have to wait for my trip to find out when I re-visit the ROX store at SM Ayala.

    Thanks for any input.

Link below if anyone is interested

Actually you can find gas canisters all over. The place where I bought drinking water in Sibulan sold and also refilled canisters which seemed like a dodgy proposition as we don't refill the small canisters in the US. I saw new filled canisters for sale in Unitop, Hypermart and probably a few other places that don't immediately come to mind. Whether they have the proper screw on connection for your stove might be a different story. I did see some fairly compact stoves sold in the Philippines. They weren't as small as a genuine folding camp stove but I think they would take up more space than add mass and you might be able to strap it to the outside of a pack. I hate having to reinvent the wheel when there is a lower tech solution. The canisters I saw had a 10-12mm threaded connection, I didn't measure them. They looked the same size as some Butane camp fuel cylinders that are used/sold in the US but I can't swear to it.
